Oslo Spektrum

The city of Oslo in Norway is home to about 500,000 people. As one of the smallest of all European capitals, Oslo is best known for being a magnificent city, surrounded by nature. The city is modern enough where you can easily get around using the underground system, ferries, trains, buses, and so on. The great thing about using the transportation in Oslo is that you will have the opportunity to visit the wilderness areas to the inner fjord.

The Oslo Spektrum was constructed in 1990 and today, is the largest multipurpose arena in the country. Found in the heart of the city, you can reach the arena within minutes by foot, which makes it a great spot for tourists. With the design of the Oslo Spektrum, the facility is used for a number of things to include concerts by people like Andrea Crouch and Shania Twain, along with family entertainment, trade shows, corporate events, conferences, banquets, and even the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Oslo Spektrum Norway With a capacity for 9,700 people, the arena can be arranged in a number of ways to accommodate the current event. For instance, off the main hallway are a number of additional rooms that are ideal for corporate workshops, exhibitions, and can be used for entertainment or catering areas. Today, Oslo Spektrum is probably best known for the concerts. In addition to the two mentioned, other performers, include Elton John, Bruce Springstein, Sting, along with shows such as Disney on Ice.

The architecture of the Oslo Spektrum is magnificent, having been designed and built by Guttorm Guttormsgaard. Then if you head to the main building of the arena, you will find the Champ Sports Bar with excellent food and drink. Although some people coming to Norway look forward to venturing to the wilderness areas, some like getting out on sailboats, and yet other people prefer the festivals.

For instance, many people will travel to Norway for the incredible cross-country and downhill skiing. They will stay in incredible mountain resorts and spend time skiing some of the best slopes in the world. One such area is just outside of Oslo called Holmenkollen. You can enjoy the summers in Norway as well, taking advantage of the mountains for climbing, backpacking, and bird watching. However, one of the most exciting adventures is the glacier hiking near Sogndal in Nigardsbreen.

This means that you can spend a few days in the backcountry or time within some of the larger cities where you can dine and shop, then at night take time out to take in a wonderful concert held at Oslo Spektrum. At whatever hotel you stay at, you can talk to the hotel to find out what events are currently playing. Without doubt, you will be mesmerized by the overwhelming size of the arena and the incredible layout that makes each convert and event perfect.
