Warsaw Opera House
Warsaw was not founded until the early 14th century and has been the capital city on and off since 1611. Warsaw has long been a center for culture and industry. In addition, prior to the devastation caused by World War II, this city was considered the most beautiful and sophisticated in all of Europe. Although you will find some historic buildings standing that have gone through in-depth restoration, most of the architecture is contemporary. Because of this, you will be amazed at the development.
When in Warsaw, there are a number of things to see. For instance, the Vistula River divides the between the Old Town and the center of the city. Then, you can visit Old Town, which after the war was left in shambles. Having been completely rebuilt, you will find yourself impressed by the open-air cafes, magnificent art stalls, and wonderful blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements. Another great thing to see while in Warsaw is the Historical Museum. This particular museum takes up the entire northern square and has on display numerous collections and artifacts of the city’s early history. While these are all excellent opportunities for you to experience Warsaw at its best, the Warsaw Opera House is a special treat. Poland loves the theatre, especially opera. Today, this opera house has been hosting the annual Mozart Festival for the past 15 years. There, some of the most incredible operatic output can be enjoyed. For this particular performance, the company plays every night, to include all of Mozart’s staged works. The Warsaw Opera House was first founded in 1961 and now, visitors are entertained and mesmerized by contemporary music along with Baroque classical. However, the Mozart Festival is what brought worldwide recognition to the opera house. In fact, this opera house is the only one in the world that has all of Mozart’s operas listed on the repertoire permanently. Keep in mind that while this one festival is the best known, the house also boasts other programs such as Monteverdi, Polish opera, and other Baroque masters. Other options while in Warsaw in clued the Grand Theater – National Opera. The repertoire of this house is outstanding opera and ballet. This opera was brought into Poland in 1626, just two decades after appearing in Italy. As the largest opera house in Warsaw, the exterior is the classical 1830s but unfortunately, during World War II, it was destroyed. Interestingly, many Polish civilians lost their lives at the Nazis hands for participating in the 1944 uprising. However, today you can enjoy a number of Polish and classical operas. Finally, the Warsaw Chamber Opera has a wonderful selection of music, which ranges from Eastern Europe countries. However, this opera house is also well known for the classical repertoires. Without doubt, you need to learn more the arts and opera in this country. Each song comes from the heart, from people who have had to endure so much yet have come out survivors.
